Fiber and Mixed Media (FAMM)
Fiber and Mixed Media (FAMM) welcomes artists and creators who are interested in sewing, knitting, painting, crochet, jewelry, polymer clay, paper arts, vinyl, wood burning, paper making, and more. Whether you tackle your whole project in our shop, or just pop in for one step of your process, we can’t wait to see what you’re making!

Checkout Info
FAMM does not have a single shop checkout. Many of the tools in FAMM are available for anyone to use without specific training required. However, some tools require additional orientation/training for safe use. Please contact a shop captain or designated member for a checkout on:
- Basic sewing machine
- Serger
- Industrial Sewing Machine
- Roland BN20A Ecosolvent Print and Cut ("Sticker Machine")
- Heat Press
- Melco Embroidery Machine
We strongly recommend that you wait to get trained on a tool until you have a basic project in mind – that way, your training is fresh on your mind when you are ready to begin. In addition to these required checkouts, please ask for help with any tools you aren’t familiar with.
*Please remember that we are ALL volunteers. We do our best to accommodate different scheduling needs, but we also have jobs, families, etc., and often make special trips to Lowell Make to do checkouts. Please be respectful of our time by showing up on time for your appointment.
